Burning Tips to Extend the Life of Your Candle

DO: Trim the wick each and every time to 1/8 – 1/4 inch.

WHY?: A trimmed wick provides a bright and clean burn and reduces the likeliness of those black smoke stains on the glass. Use scissors or nail clippers to trim the wick to 1/8 – 1/4 inch every time and be sure to remove any trimmings from the candle surface before lighting your candle.

DO: Let the candle burn until the wax is melted all the way across.

WHY?: By letting the candle burn long enough, about 3 hours depending on size, you’ll have a nice even melt of wax all the way across which helps use all the wax in the container and gives you more hours of candlelight.

DO: Burn the candle in a draft-free place

WHY?: Drafty air from windows, fans or lots of movement can cause the flame to burn the candle unevenly and result in black smoke stains on the glass. Should this happen, before lighting and when the candle is cold, use a tissue to wipe away the smokey marks.
